Squirrel Kicker
This place is an absolute treasure (get it?) ---an underwater (scuba?)-themed bar with an electric vibe and, without question, the best burger in DC (accidentally recommended this burger to the owner of Duke's down the street - whoops). The burger is always amazing, stacked with a fab bourbon onion concoction and held together by an elite bun. And the fries? Big, twisty, double-fried steakhouse-style + ranch = obsessed. I've recommended this spot to everyone I know and people who didn't even ask, and I'll keep doing it, even though part of me wants to keep it a secret for the locals. 10/10, no notes.
Hangover Burger
The Commodore might look like a typical dive, but the burger is anything but. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and served on a toasted bun, it's simple yet unforgettable---one of the best burgers I've had in DC. Pair it with crispy fries and a drink, and you've got the perfect low-key meal. Come for the chill vibe, stay for the burger perfection.
The Anchor
You can tell a lot about a restaurant by the quality of the appetizers, and the Commodore's Anchor (aka the giant soft pretzel) was great! Delicious sauces, plenty to share, soft and fresh, not over-salted. Had the wings and the squirrel kicker too - all 10/10
Wings
These are the best in the city! I get them every time I come. Love the OG rub.
Crispy Honey Brussels Sprouts
Best crispy brussel sprouts in DC! Highly recommend as part of the fried chicken and 3.
Garlic Parm Fries
We go every Tuesday for trivia and we always get their fries. 100% of the time they are crispy, flavorful, and hot. The Commodore is consistent and fast.

My go-to every Tuesday night, they're always delicious! Definitely try them with the poblano ranch!
Veggie Frittata
Honestly was one of my favorite frittatas. It had such strong flavors and ypu could taste all of the ingredients.
